This hotel provides a balanced atmosphere of colours, textures, lights and shapes, along with a careful arrangement of di erent materials such as wood, alabaster, stone and glass, combined in order to please guests and create a peaceful and relaxing environment for them to be at ease. e inside of the building keeps several details from the decoration that was fashionable in the late 19th century. e historicism of this building combines neoclassical and neo-mudejar elements, such as the framework of the socle at the lobby, or the orientalist paintings that can be found on the rst oor. On the outside area, it features a symmetrical composition.
e main façade is preceded by the cast iron porch supporting a balcony on which we can nd a pediment with a central rose window and acroteria decoration. e rear façade is composed by a polygonal projection and in the upper oor there is a skirting board composed by openings covered in latticework. e garden surrounding the hotel at the front includes palm trees and magnolia trees that conform a wonderful vegetal curtain. In the garden, we can nd its famous fountain with swans that lent their name to the hotel itself “Palacio de los patos”.
