Where does your passion for literature come from?
It emerged when I learned to talk. I think it was my family who encouraged me to speak properly and to start reading. I became a library member at the age of ve, and I still have my Public Library card. I wanted to read even before learning to do it, I would stare at books, wanting to read them. If you encourage children to do something that gets their attention, it becomes very important to them. My family always encouraged me to read and study.
You started writing at a very young age, and soon you received recognition. How do you cope with success?
I always say that there is nothing to cope with. It just happened to me. It could have been much worse if I had worked for years without receiving any recognition. It is true that I had already learnt how to travel on my own and deal with criticism and the
press because I had worked in the music industry as well. Maybe it was a good training for the world of writing since I had the weapons to ght back and stand up for my work. My success was focused on my work, not on myself. It depends on how mature you are. I’ve always been ambitious, I wanted to further my career but I wasn’t focus on being a celebrity, and that helps a lot.
