A sport you
can do at any moment
Nowadays, it is very common to see people running in the streets, in parks, at any time of the day (even at night). With the arrival of summer, many people are encouraged to try this activity that is as easy to do as it is healthy. According to some studies, it reduces the risk of mortality by 30%.
In order to enjoy its bene ts, we must take some precautions, and the  rst thing we must do is to explore the area in which we are going to run. If it’s a hard surface, such as the pavement of cities, the joints and tendons will have to do the hard work, while if it’s a so  ground, like sand, it involves greater muscular work.
What’s most important is to have the right running shoes in order to improve our performance and avoid injuries. Each person has their own way to walk, and we must take this into account when choosing our trainers. Another factor to consider is our weight—the higher the weight, the more important the cushioning is, particularly in the heel and toe.
 e out t is also important, we must wear comfortable, seamless clothes made with breathable fabric, so they don’t bother us while we run.
In the case of women, the chest is subjected to impact while running, which may damage the Cooper’s ligaments, causing premature  accidity. In order to prevent this from happening, you can simply wear a sports bra that boosts  rmness.
Nutrition is vital when you jog. Experts recommend increasing the intake of vitamin E products, such as oil, vegetables, cereals, legumes, because they help reduce muscular damage. Antioxidant foods, such as citrus fruits, red berries, and vegetables such as broccoli and spinach are also recommendable.
We cannot forget the planning. We shouldn’t set challenging goals at  rst. Instead, we should start runing 20 to 25 minutes, alternating walking and running, and progressively increasing the training time. Organising our route beforehand can be a good motivation. Don’t forget to wear waterproof sunscreen and take a bottle of water with you.
Jogging has become a trending sport due to its multiple advantages: you can do it either alone or in company of others, anywhere and anytime. It puts your body to the test, stimulates your mind and has no age restrictions.
